What Is Seborrheic Dermatitis?

Seborrheic Dermatitis, commonly known as ‘cradle cap,’ is a prevalent skin condition primarily affecting the scalp. This condition, characterized by scaly patches, red skin, and persistent dandruff, can extend to other oily areas of the body. Beyond the scalp, it may impact areas like the face, sides of the nose, eyebrows, ears, eyelids, and chest, causing discomfort and visible symptoms.

What Causes Seborrheic Dermatitis?

The exact cause of Seborrheic Dermatitis is not fully understood, but it is thought to involve a combination of factors. These may include the overgrowth of yeast on the skin, an abnormal response to the natural oils produced by the skin, and certain environmental and genetic influences. Understanding these factors is crucial for effective management and relief from the symptoms associated with Seborrheic Dermatitis.
